The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will be heading to Texas this week for the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500. This will be the first 1.5 mile track in nearly a month, the first since Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Cup Series will be running their 550 horsepower, high downforce, high drag package in the Lone Star State. The racing at Texas Motor Speedway is always known for its speed and should be closer than ever with the new rules package. Corey LaJoie will be making his fourth start at TMS in the Cup Series.
PROSPR, a forward thinking financial technology company, has sponsored LaJoie and Go Fas in one race earlier in the year at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. PROSPR uses artificial intelligence and new patent-pending turbine technology to build self contained mining pods with zero energy costs and "off the grid energy" consumption. This will be their second race with the No.32 team and Corey LaJoie. They are currently scheduled for one more race with the team.
Martinsville Speedway was the site of last weekend's 500 lap, 250 mile race. The STP 500, a two-day enhanced schedule weekend, went off to a rough start for the CorvetteParts.net team after a first-practice incident resulting in the No.32 team having to go to a backup car. The CorvetteParts.net crew battled all day Saturday and Sunday morning to build the backup car, which was originally slated to race at Richmond Raceway, and build it into the Martinsville racecar.
Persevering all weekend, Corey LaJoie and the CorvetteParts.net fought through 500 laps at one of toughest tracks on the schedule to bring the team a 33rd place finish.
"Texas [Motor Speedway] is one of my favorite mile and a half tracks. Our big track package has had good speed so far this year and I'm hoping that translates to Texas. I'm excited to have PROSPR back on the car and look forward to giving them an even better result than Vegas."
