Go FAS Racing Coca-Cola 600

Race Advance

Driver: Matt DiBenedetto
Sponsor: Cosmo Motors

Cosmo Motors and Matt DiBenedetto honor Capt. Kyle Comfort this Sunday night in the longest race of the season.

Cosmo Motors Makes Season Debut:

For the second straight week, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will be competing at Charlotte Motor Speedway, but this week will have a different story. As opposed to last week's sprint format with several small stages, this week will be a 600-mile marathon, the longest race of the season. Cosmo Motors will be the primary sponsor for Matt DiBenedetto this weekend, racing their familiar red, white, and black scheme they debuted last year.

NASCAR Salutes / About Capt. Kyle Comfort:

This weekend, Capt. Kyle Comfort will be represented on the windshield banner of the No.32 Cosmo Motors Ford as part of a tribute to fallen military service members. Capt. Kyle Aaron Comfort, 27, was a Fire Support Officer assigned to Company D, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, Ga.. He was born on Oct. 17, 1982 in Alabama. He was killed in action on May 8, 2010 during a combat operation in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
His awards and decorations include the Ranger Tab, Parachutist Badge and the Air Assault Badge. He has also been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with combat star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon.
He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and Combat Action Badge.
1.5-Mile Success Continues for Go Fas
The team might not have the flashy finishes that they had at this point in 2017, but they've been much more consistent, especially at the 1.5-mile tracks. The 1.5-mile tracks, which make up most of the current NASCAR schedule, are integral to team success, and have been a focus of Crew Chief Randy Cox since joining the team earlier in the season.
The last three finishes for the team at these racetracks have brought DiBenedetto a 22nd, 16th, and 22nd to give him an average finish of 20th in his last three 1.5-mile races. With a tight points race with several other teams ranging from 27th in points to 31st, continuing that momentum at these racetracks will be integral to this small team's success. Heading into this weekend's Coca-Cola 600, the Cosmo Motors No.32 team sits right in the middle of that battle in 29th.
DiBenedetto on a special Memorial Day weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway:
"It's nice to have a few home races here as we start to get into the busy part of the season. It really lets the team regroup, spend some time with family, and get ahead on a few things back at the shop. The race this weekend is always a tough one. 600 miles makes for a long race where both the track and racecar change a lot throughout the night. Last year we had a really good Cosmo Motors Ford but ran something over and cut a tire which ended our race early. Randy [Cox] has been really good at mid-race adjustments so I really hope we can capitalize on that this weekend and bring a good finish home for the Cosmo Motors group and represent Capt. Kyle Comfort as well as possible."
